Apparently there's a learning curve with gist's. Thank you for pointing that out.

1. I believe Divvy will do what you want:
http://mizage.com/divvy/

2. While the desired use case is unclear, I use Stay to manage window sizes and positions when connecting/disconnecting my MacBook Pro with its external display:
http://cordlessdog.com/stay/

BTW, a bunch of your posts just ended up on Planet Django, even though none of them are related to Django. You might want to remove your feed from Planet Django, or at least re-submit a feed that is category-specific, perhaps like this:

No, I think it's just a case of sloppy coding by several different programmers. I may be wrong but it looks like someone threw in a function which met their needs without taking the time to review the existing code. Been there and done that so I can speak with some authority on the subject.

Yeah, I'm kinda coming to that same conclusion. The very fact that I need to spend a week (minimum) sorting out my .vimrc file settings is a bit overkill. I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that knowing the basics are hugely important but knowing enough to make it your primary editor is potentially counter productive.

I still waiver between a good text editor and a good IDE. Mastering Eclipse and its various "plugins" may be the way to go.

I was trying vim for a very long time also.
Years.
Kept on trying and trying and trying.
I thought that like a programming language it would pay dividends for all the effort involved.
Listen here is the truth of the matter , there are easier editors to use, in fact I think that this is probably in the bottom half of the editors out there.
Maybe 5 or 10 years ago when Unix was all terminal based this editor made sence.
In my humble opinion I would suggest that there are easier editors and its day has long passed. I am very sorry if this hurts anyones feelings.
