I’ve had many of my clients ask me for help with search engine optimization. It’s at least as commonly asked for as ecommerce. Generally, the two go hand in hand.
One of the product offerings I’d like to add to Rutherstone is SEO. Now that I’ve said this, where do I find out about it all. One place I’ve found is http://www.sempo.org/. SEMPO is the Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization which “exists to fill the gaps in awareness and understanding of SEM, including educating marketing managers worldwide about what SEM is and how properly implemented SEM programs can provide some of the highest returns on investment possible in the marketing world today.”
I’m intrigued to say the least. My marketing experience has come in mighty handy in the past few years and I’d like to continue to use this experience and begin to capitalize on it.
Since I have almost no knowledge about this stuff I’ll do some basic research then see if I can scrape together a few grand to go to Search Engine Strategies 2005 Convention and Expo. It’s not cheap at $1,695 plus food and accomodations but based on my experience with the Microsoft Mobile Developers Conference I went to, it would be money well spent.
